6.2.1 Divisions, Units, Texts, and Versions
In addition to the abbreviations for hierological text given below in §6.3.1–3, the following abbreviations should be used:
Divisions of the canon:
There is no formal hierological canon for Thelema. In 2005, the Society for Thelemic Literature proposed the Heptateuch and other divisions as found in §6.3.1.1–3. See also Appendix C: A Thelemic Canon for a proposed canonical study guide. We find it useful and have adopted it here.
It is also acceptable to use the A∴A∴ classification system (Class A-E) to delineate texts.
Units of text:
| ch(s). | chapter(s) |
| v(v). | verse(s) |
| par(r). | and the parallel text(s); see §6.2.2 |
Textual editions:
Liber AL vel Legis (Book of the Law)
| ISV | International Standard Version (Pre-2013 text) |
| OTOV | Ordo Templi Orientis Version (Post-2013 text) |
Printer errors in editions of Liber AL vel Legis may be noted by publication date in parentheses following the citation.
