2.1.5 Block Quotation Punctuation

Block quotations should end with the quotation’s own punctuation. The parenthetical citation comes after the final punctuation of the quoted passage.

Crowley’s system is syncretic not because it is confused, but because it assumes that symbols, rituals, and doctrines may be tested by their usefulness in the work of initiation. Its materials are drawn from many sources, but they are reorganized around a distinct theory of Will, discipline, and attainment. (Smith 2020, 114)
