5.1.4.2 Publication Location
When a title page or copyright page gives several publication locations, cite only the first city unless there is a specific reason to do otherwise. This keeps notes and bibliographies clean and avoids unnecessary variation.
If the city or publisher may not be readily identifiable to readers, add the state, province, or country. Apply this practice consistently. For example, if one citation gives Austin, TX, then other citations using Austin as the place of publication should also include TX. Use standard two-letter post code abbreviations for states and provinces; see §6.1.1: Post Code Abbreviations.
