1.1.3.2 Paragraph Indents

Do not use tabs to indent paragraphs. Set paragraph indents through the word processor’s paragraph-formatting controls so the manuscript remains clean and easy to prepare for production.

When a block quotation, ritual extract, verse passage, or other displayed material is followed by ordinary prose, make clear whether the next line continues the previous paragraph or begins a new one. If a line after an extract is intentionally not indented, mark it plainly with a temporary note such as <NO INDENT> so the editor and typesetter can distinguish intention from oversight.
