2.3.4 Modern and Online Commentaries

Modern commentaries may appear as printed books, journal articles, online essays, webpages, or serial publications. Cite the source according to the form in which it appears. A printed commentary should be cited as a book or article. An online commentary should include the author, title, website or publication title, date if available, URL, and access date when needed.

For online commentaries, students should be especially careful to record complete information while researching. If a commentary is revised, undated, or spread across several webpages, the citation should make the consulted version as clear as possible.
