4.3 Contents Page

Use a contents page for term papers of fifteen pages or more, unless the instructor or publication gives different instructions. Shorter papers usually do not need one.

The contents page should list the major headings of the paper and, when useful, the main subheadings. The wording, capitalization, and order of headings on the contents page should match the headings used in the paper itself. Include page numbers for each listed section.
