4.2 Title Page

Use a title page for term papers unless the instructor gives different directions. For pre-press submissions, online publications, or journal-style work, an editor may determine that a separate title page is unnecessary.

On a title page, use all capital letters. Center all elements on the page. Leave approximately two inches at the top and bottom margins, and allow about two inches between each major element.

A student title page should normally include the paper title, the student’s name, the course or assignment information, the instructor’s name, the institution if required, and the date of submission. Do not place a printed page number on the title page, although it counts as page i when front matter is numbered.
